Well, the necessity of effective action is obvious, but I feel that I should also present more conciliatory, unifying approaches to the students. I heard an interview with Rep. Elissa Slotkin over the weekend that I may also share with them.
Conciliation and compromise are important, as long as we don't settle for the status quo, particularly when it comes to climate change, voting rights, campaign finance reform and partisan gerrymandering. I'm sure, Mike, that anything you decide to share with students is worth reading.
The real “Deep State” kicked in on approximately November 9th. The stock market, financial institutions, blasted off. Pfizer, Pharma, announced the 95% anti-viral. Moderna followed soon. They know that a stable government leader promotes growth, not an unpredictable one as we have now. Trump had to go and depressing the markets and holding back the medicine until after the election was the conspiracy. Dolly, thanks for the million bucks.
I think you're on target, John. The vaccines won't be approved for wide distribution for a while (and so there was no "holding back" of the distribution), but the timing of the announcements of preliminary results was crucial, and I agree that those companies weren't about to let Trump take credit and bolster his reelection chances. Now, by not cooperating with the Biden tradition team, the Trump Administration may be delaying the development of a distribution plan. For readers not from Tennessee, like John and me and Dolly, Dolly is of course Dolly Parton, and her $1 million donation to Covid research helped finance the Moderna vaccine. Bless your heart, Dolly!!!!
Thank you for this. It may act as the constitution for the re-creation of Young Democrats at our school.
Fantastic!
